We also have several customized Board & Train packages to fit each dog's needs. Safe, fun, trustworthy, and comfortable overnight dog boarding awaits you! Enjoy peace of mind while you are away, knowing that your pet is in a climate-controlled indoor boarding suite. Each accommodation includes a Kuranda cot and bowls, comfy blankets, along with supervised activities several times a day in our large playgrounds. Your dog will enjoy snacks after playtime, television, and plenty of personal love and attention from our dedicated family! Big, little or small: We LOVE them ALL!
No crowded kennels or chaotic environment. Your pup will enjoy their own comfortable suite designed for rest, relaxation, and routine. With cozy bedding, TV for soothing background comfort, and plenty of one-on-one attention, their stay feels more like a vacation! We have a veterinarian technician on the property at all times for special pups needing extra care. We also believe, "A tired dog is a good dog", we offer supervised all day play and socialization if your pup loves to play!
Our suites are designed for comfort, calm, and cozy stays. If two pups from the same family are sharing a private suite, they must be able to peacefully eat side-by-side. Mealtime should be stress-free, happy, and drama-free -- No guarding, tension, or food fussing. Since their suite is their shared home-away-from-home during their stay, we want it to feel relaxed and safe at all times. If your pups can dine together like polite little lodge guests, they're welcome to bunk up together.
All of our suites are the same cozy size - whether it's one pup or a whole crew staying together. If three pups from the same family are sharing a suite, they must be able to comfortably eat and relax side-by-side. Mealtime should be calm and respectful for everyone. As long as your trio can share their space peacefully, they're welcome to bunk together and enjoy their stay!
We offer 30-minute private trail walks or swim sessions in beautiful Cedar Island Lake, all right here on our 15 gorgeous acres of private property in scenic northeastern Minnesota. With peaceful wooded trails winding throughout and fresh lake air all around, your pup gets more than just exercise - they get enrichment, exploration, and pure joy. Whether they're splashing in the water or trotting the trails, it's safe, supervised outdoor time designed to keep tails wagging and minds happy!
We offer 30-minute Certified Canine Massage Therapy sessions designed to support your dog's overall wellness and comfort. Canine massage can help improve mobility and each session is performed with gentle, intentional techniques tailored to your pup's individual needs, promoting both physical healing and emotional well-being. Whether your pup needs therapeutic support or simply a calming reset, our massage sessions are a soothing, beneficial experience from nose to tail.
Our daycare program is the perfect way for your pup to spend the day while you're at work or away. Drop them off in the morning and pick up a happy, fulfilled pup in the afternoon! Throughout the day, they enjoy supervised play, healthy socialization, and enriching activities designed to stimulate both mind and body. Our structured environment encourages positive interactions, builds confidence, and helps burn off that extra energy in a safe, family-run setting. "A tired dog, is a good dog."
Holidays are special - and that includes the pups staying with us. Because we remain on-site and dedicate our holiday time to caring for all the pups, an additional holiday fee is applied (per dog) on major holidays. This allows us to provide the same high level of attention, supervision, play, and comfort your pup receives every day of the year - even while we are giving up time with our own families. Your pup's safety, happiness, and routine remain our priority and commitment.
Dog training and obedience work for all breeds, from basic obedience to advanced certified canine service work and protection training. We utilize force-free positive reinforcement techniques that are proven to be effective. Our certified dog training services accommodate any breed, any age, and any issue! Additionally, we offer certified dog grooming, dog boarding, and Dog Daycare options. (Tax is not included in training prices.)
From 8-16 weeks of age, your pup can participate in our 5 Daycare program (one week) that includes 2 training sessions each day. This program focuses on confidence building through positive associations and socialization, as well as general obedience with appropriate greeting manners. Please note that the pup does NOT stay overnight for dog boarding. At the end of the week, there will be one private (one hour) meeting to discuss the progress.
For pups with a solid foundation who need a refresher, this program enhances impulse control and reactions to distractions, helping to manage excitement and improve patience. Designed to master advanced skills and boost confidence, this boot camp is perfect for dogs preparing for canine service work training. Our one-week overnight boot camp runs Monday to Friday and includes one hour of private meeting at pick up.
Join our TWO week board & train program, ideal for dogs over 4 months of age, featuring 2 training sessions per day. Our certified dog training focuses on essential obedience cues and loose leash training while ensuring positive socialization in new environments to build confidence amidst distance and distractions. We help establish healthy routines and reinforce good behavior, addressing specific behavioral issues. The package includes a one-hour private meeting at pick up.
FOUR week board & train! For dogs over 4 months of age, we offer 2 training sessions per day. Prior completion of the 2 week board & train is required. This program strengthens skills by reinforcing advanced obedience through real-life situations, focusing on Canine Good Citizen behavior and mastering loose lead techniques. We address reactive behaviors and behavioral thresholds, while enhancing recall and boundaries, increasing distance and distractions.
Addressing behavioral issues such as aggression, anxiety, reactivity and triggers, fear, separation anxiety, resource guarding, pack instability, territorial aggression, and dominance aggression is crucial in the realm of certified dog training. Through training, we can desensitize and counter-condition to triggers while managing behaviors to set up each pup for success. The duration of this process depends on the individual progress of your pup. (offered online also)
Open to ALL pups up to one year of age. Owners MUST attend all 6 classes to ensure effective learning. In these sessions, you'll learn essential skills that form the foundation for all learning, including pre Canine Good Citizen skills. This is an excellent start not only for basic obedience training but also for those interested in certified canine service work training.
Teach responsible dog ownership and certify pups through certified dog training, ensuring they have the necessary training and behaviors to be reliable, well-behaved members of their families and communities. We offer CGC and Advanced CGC testing at our facility. Please call for details.
This is an advanced level of the Canine Good Citizen program. There is no age limit; however, the pup MUST have a CGC test on record with AKC.
Provide comfort and improve mental well-being for individuals in public settings like hospitals and nursing homes through training. This approach starts with basic obedience, which is essential for achieving the CGC.
The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) defines a service dog as 'a dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for a person with a disability.' This training often includes service work training, ensuring that these dogs are highly trained and specialized in performing tasks to the individuals' needs. Please call for more details.
Our full groom service, performed by a team with certified dog grooming expertise, includes a bath, dry, coat trim, brush out, nail trim, and ear cleaning. Please note that tax is not included in the pricing.

Sunday is 3:00-6:00pm. Gate is open by appointment only. Happy Dog is open 365 days a year for boarding, training or grooming, however we are closed for transactions on all holidays.
